Its SHOWTIME!

Our week started with the Emergency Services Show in Birmingham. Mark and Phil met loads of potential clients from the Fire, Ambulance, Police, NHS services.Lots of techy and specialised products- tents, tents and more tents. The response was fantastic and we are already taking orders !!  Hurray!!

Then, a few days later, our leaders Mark, Phil and this time Sol flew off to Germany to the 3 day Berlin European Attractions Show, the biggest in Continental Europe.

The euros have been flying in !! Wunderbar !! We have increased our customer base in Germany and the German hirers love our Bouncy Castles, Obstacle courses and Games range.Our lovely team have been sending us daily  photos of Restaurant food, drink and posh Berlin shops just to make us jealous!!!

The brand new inflatables for the LSS Show  on 8^th -9^th Oct have arrived here in Cwmbran ready for next week!!!  they are soooo great.

Other news , it was Kerry’s Birthday this week  !!! 21 again… I am sworn to secrecy on this one !!Although I will quote Bob Hope (a famous Hollywood Actor) once said…’you know when you are old when the candles cost more than the cake’ Young at heart, our Kerry, only joking!!

Summer is gone, SHOWS are on!

Oh my! Has Summer been and gone? Did I blink?  Our factory had their annual closure and are now back at it after being fully rested and over in the UK some of the team took time out too; Ollie returned from a two week break, Wayne paid a visit to Cote d’Azur, Monaco and the Italian Alps for his annual College/Uni get together last weekend and the tight ‘so ‘n’ so’ only spent €173 over the 5 days – Talk about economical!!!  – what exciting lives we lead!

The Show Season has just begun with the Body Power Fitness Show formerly LIW at the NEC this week.  Surprisingly, even though the show itself was half the size compared with last year it was well attended by Leisure Centres enabling us to catch up with existing contacts and also network with potentially new clients.  All visitors to our impressive inflatable stand were complimentary of our products and quality.  The toddlers that stopped by were very appreciative of the Paw Patrol Playzone and so were the parents/carers as it allowed them to catch their breath and tire out the little ones.  Our Nerf/Archery game attracted every ‘big kid’ in the building and I have an inkling that the coffee and cakes there were on offer dragged a few people over!

Radio X, Seagull babies and the SHUTDOWN !

The pace is still on to fulfil all of the last minute orders at our two factories in Romania. Our fabulous employees in Production, Design, Marketing and Admin are giving well over 100% to make sure our clients Worldwide have everything they need before the Summer shutdown mid-August.  They are all so looking forward to their much needed break after a phenomenal 2017 Season.

Just to reassure our readers that there will be a team of skeleton staff (not literally) working throughout the period to answer any last minute questions. Our Cwmbran centre is fully manned throughout this period for new orders, repairs and testing …

Kerry is off to Dublin next week to see our Irish Distributor and carry out Pool Inflatable Installation training at a Leisure Centre.  Sunny Cwmbran HQ received a few European visitors to see our operation and place some orders !! Oo La La!  Wyane loved it as he got to buy Welsh cakes for everyone!

More news on the Radio X Airquee Plug we got- Kerry and DJ Chris Moyles are rapidly becoming bosom buddies although she is desperate to receive a call ‘on air’ and it’s just not happening – maybe we should apply for a place on Love Island for her for next year! The fantastic news is that thanks to her random text into the show a couple of weeks ago and her continued determination (or harassment) AIRQUEE  will be supplying a new Inflatable Pub to the Radio X Breakfast Show Team and  they will be using this to tour the UK later in the year.  Chris opened it up to a vote to choose the name for the pub and the name the listeners chose was Pubby McPubface !!!! We love it !! More news as it happens. 

The Seagulls have had their babies in Cwmbran and now they are wandering around the car park ready for take-off. Josh thought they were Ducks !!!! No Josh, Seagulls.  We are having them dive-bomb us. It’s a fast run from the car to the office door….just like the Hitchcock firm  The Birds.     As it’s in Wales, it’s ‘The Birds boy yoo’

Like I mentioned in last weeks Blog, Mark and Phil are over in the Factory next week to give the staff a big thank you for all the hard work and efforts throughout the year and make sure our Autumn range ( brand new ideas of the Autumn shows) are underway.

Radio, heat and final run for the factory!

FAME AT LAST!!!  Popular DJ Chris Moyles was on the lookout for inflatables and Kerry was straight on it – texted the station and got a response! The next day Airquee got a mention during the Breakfast Show on BBC Radio X - it was a fantastic free advertising spot about our Inflatable Hogshead Pub, Kilderkin and our amazing Inflatable Church!! The Presenters were going wild and went through our product range live on air, even Lady McIvor got a mention, something about wanting a date with young Toby Tarrant in return for a PUB!!! Our website went into overdrive with over 1200 hits on our website https://airquee.com/en/  in just 10 mins!!  Yippeeee The Radio Station are even thinking about a Summer tour using one of our inflatable pubs as a mobile studio…more news at it happens. 

Eric the kitten has his eye on Kerrys gerbils !! ( Yes, I said GERBILS! She has 2 Gerbils within her growing menagerie as well as Norman the Patterdale) Eric is turning into a cheeky little addition to the McIvor household.

Ollie is on the point of a massive new order!!! Go Ollie, Wayne has since defrosted since the aircon has been turned off and  he has turned pink once again!  It was getting to the point of him wearing one of our padded sumo suits to keep warm so drastic measures were taken. Carole is still the Queen of the Leisure Centres and the orders are still flooding in in time for Summer School Holidays.

We think Sol has turned German, she is nonstop ‘Gutten Tag’ on the phone. Watch out Germany !! Sol is selling loads of inflatables and games!!

We are at the final push at our Factory before their Summer Shutdown as it really is just too hot to work – Kerry was melting last week - only a few more weeks before a well-earned rest. Don’t Panic Mr Mainwaring ! We have skeleton staff working over the 3 weeks to answer any questions about orders/production and transport.As you know, all our inflatables are inflated and tested before they are dispatched all over the Globe. Mark, our Leader,  passport in hand, did a Whistle Stop European Tour to visit our many Distributors (his boot full of chocolates and wine no doubt).Both Mark and Phil H are off to Romania next week for another jolly!?  Not really, they will be working hard with our wonderful team in Production, working with our Marketing Team and the new designs  we are launching in the Autumn.

Our new colleague Eve ( remember the last Blog, she was working with Adam!) is fitting in well and learning the Airquee ways. Eve has a young son so inflatables are very interesting to her and she loves all of the creations she is seeing in the Inflation Room whilst gleaning all about our manufacturing processes to help her do the job well.

Erika and Adam have steam coming off their feet as they rush around Airquee 2 constantly ensuring that everything runs smoothly… Viktor and Boti are making more and more videos to show our customers how the products work and how to put them together with the LOS in mind these videos are priceless!

Hotness, Travel and a new PET CAT!

The heat has returned to Cwmbran and to our factory in Romania…its warm one…..the Air Con is on in the Cwmbran office at last. Icicles were seen hanging of Wayne’s nose and ear lobes earlier in the day…he was moaning as usual !! …’where is my coat?’ he was shouting. Carole was also shouting something in Glaswegian. ??!!??!! enough said.

** HOT NEWS**  Kerry has a new addition to the family, Eric Morecambe, the new pussy cat, together with Norman Wisdom, the Patterdale dog, the house is full of comedians. Little Eric is settling in well, under the watchful gaze of Norman the Protector.

 Once again, the sales Team has smashed their June targets and are now on their way with lots of new orders from our many and varied clients across the UK and Europe. The Designers and the Bosses are often seen huddled in corners discussing our new products of the autumn shows. I’m sworn to secrecy so I cannot divulge a thing here !!

This week Kerry has been working from Romania at both of our amazing factories... and what a busy time she has had arranging new design and production schedules from September along with overseeing testing procedures, quality control processes and of course she had time to take some of the UK admin Team out for a bite to eat - clearly she is loving the Hungarian Step Aerobic classes with Ida Kelemen!!! 

The Factory are still working overtime to get the brand new inflatables to us in record time and record numbers. Business has never been better. Well done to our magnificent workforce  !!

Rain, Birthday and new staff!

The rain have returned to Cwmbran!! Phew it was hot last week.

Wayne celebrated his 60^th Birthday... lots of cake, banners and balloons….’where was the jelly and blancmange ?’ , he asked.

He was very proud wearing his giant ‘I’m 60 today’ badge!! Everyone clubbed together to buy the old timer a nice pen….he will be able to sign his pension book when it arrives……

He has just returned from his 9 days in France, Luxembourg and Germany. Lots of Michelin star restaurants and 40 degrees heat, he said. Yeah right! Back to Slimming World next week!!

Ollie and the boys in Repairs and Testing had a busy day training our Client at Lee Valley in London with their huge obstacle course they recently purchased from Airquee. Our Client was delighted with our efforts and are looking forward to their Summer season and our ongoing business relationship. Sol is still hard at it selling to Germany and scored her first major Nickelodeon order there. Ja! Go Girl!!

Birds attack, summer is here!

The summer has arrived. It is glorious sunshine here in Cwmbran and the Ice Lollies are circulating in the office.

Put that Air Con on !!!!! Ollie, the Sales Guru, is sweltering under this heat and is busy taking orders from our many happy clients.

Sol , our delightful French Sales Executive is non-plussed, she is used to these temperatures coming from sunnier climes. Carole, is soon coming up for her 10^th anniversary with Airquee. Well done Carole, you are AMAZING and have watched and been a huge part of Airquee growing from a team of 25 to nearly 300 people!!!

Wayne is off on his hols next week and will be celebrating his 60^th later in June- I’m sure there will be lots of Birthday cake and Champers! Slimming World will have to wait a couple of weeks.

Our Rob and Ryan, the Dynamic Duo Designers, are currently knee deep in brand new designs - I know we keep mentioning these brand new ideas--- just wait and see!!

What of our trusty Leaders; Kerry has been out and about visiting our Leisure Clients round London this week, bring in more orders. Well done Lady Macca!  Mark has been working from the Factory and was only in the office for 8 hours and is now off to Scandinavia and other exciting places catching up with our delightful distributors Worldwide.  What a jet setter !! I think he went there to cool off, they say it is freezing there at the moment! Phil H is beavering away managing all of the things needed to keep things running smoothly… plus he seems to be cleaning his car a lot lately as the seagulls appear to like the colour of it and find it an easy target!

 Our factory is still on full production ahead of the summer holiday shutdown.  We are investing more and more to increase production of our fantastically popular Sealed inflatable ranges and buildings and with the new Laser cutting machine-making 4 in total, will increase production of our stitched ranges too.
